Coaches Meeting Notes

Reminder:

If a team is going to leave after their performance the coach still needs to pick up their penalty form and use the in-person appeal process provided.

Email appeals were only used in 2021 with the virtual non-qualifying competitions. In-person performances will follow the typical in-person appeal process.

Music

Coaches are responsible for cueing/playing their music on the performance floor.

Be sure to bring music on your phone/device to plug into our warm-up room system (bluetooth will not be an option). A regular audio jack and dongle will be provided.

  • It never hurts to have a backup adapter/dongle.

  • Coaches are responsible for running their music in the warm-up room.

Supervision

Rec. Teams - please make sure the young cheerleaders are being supervised at all times by coaches or parents.

Please let parents know only coaches and cheerleaders in uniform will be allowed in the warm-up area.

  • This area includes the aux gym, athlete locker rooms, and athletic trainer area.

Wrist bracelets will be provided at registration to coaches who are on the check-in list for this purpose.

Team Check-In

Location changed in 2022!

  • Team members and coaches are asked to arrive through the side doors, to the left when you're looking at the front of the school. Follow the green arrows on the map.

      • We encourage families and buses to drop-off cheerleaders at the front of the school, then find parking around the back of campus.

      • Buses can park in the back or at Discovery Elementary (the school next door).

  • Recreational teams need to bring signed waivers to check-in for all athletes. Coaches will need to supply proof of being background checked.

  • We have designated areas for teams in our hallways. Please leave bags and props in this area. It frees up seating in the gym and space in the warm-up gym.

  • We will have a coach's room for you, it's located in our library.

Warm Up Room

Be mindful and courteous of other teams in the warm-up gym. We ask you don't use your full voices, music, or loud props until the full floor. We will have a sound system for you to use. If needed, our Athletic Trainer will be located close by, in the holding area of the main gym. Please bring your own tape if athletes need to be wrapped.
